Descent captures the destabilizing experience of moving from what is known into an uncertain state. A fractured blue mass descends through an expansive red field, its form shifting and breaking apart as it moves downward.

Layers of cobalt, ultramarine, violet, and indigo emerge through saturated reds. Scraped passages, shifting edges, and partially buried marks reveal traces of earlier states that remain embedded within the surface.

There is no clear destination in Descent. The painting holds the uncertainty of being carried beyond familiar ground, when what came before remains present but what comes next is not yet known.
